Loss of trust 09/12/2003
Chris, It always seems that the world is there for you, atleast when you're in good spirits and doing well. My mom always says: "In times of happieness, your friends know you. In times of depression, you know your friends." This couldn't be more true for you this weekend. As you watch as one person you trust so much, betrays you, rips out your heart, stomps on it, then casually walks away, it hurts. I know. But, you can let that person watch you suffer and be wretched apart, or you can prove to them, you've got more strength than they do. Pick your heart up off the floor, and put it back where it belongs. Raise your chin up, and march out the door, never looking back. When the phone rings the next morning, you know its going to be a groveling cry for re-acceptance. Ignore it and send them straight to voicemail. THATS courage, strength and above all, a pride for yourself. MAYBE at some point, give them a shred of hope to win your trust back, but certainly dont force it upon them nor offer it right away. Invest your time and effort into things you care about most. Spend time with the people who you know will be there for you in the future. Take some time to make yourself happy, and you'll soon forget that person you let go. Chin up, John
