A Train to the Sky
Jan's cute cat. You can look... but DO NOT TOUCH.
This was the last word of English he spoke until we were finished and he said, "15 dollars."

So I think it turned out OK, but it was certainly an interesting experience.

Following all this excitement, I went back downtown and after finding suitable parking, met up with Joel and Jan for a night of crazy fun and wild times. We went to a bar with a $25 cover (!!) but we managed to cozy our way in without paying. The interior was an exciting jumble of circus entertainers and alcohol. All of it was fun.

inally, a busy, productive Saturday in Vancouver. The sun was back out again today, and even though the air was cool, the closeness to to the sea caused it to feel quite warm. I decided to give the city's interesting public transportation train thing a try.

For my test run I went downtown and checked out the new Apple Store in the downtown mall. It was packed -- packed to the brim with people. Annoying.

Back near home I felt the desire to get my haircut and so went into the closest shop I could find that had a pair of scissors on its sign.

I walked in and politely asked if I could bother them to get my haircut for just a few minutes. The smaller gentleman, who I would later assume was from Malaysia, responded, "Haircut?"
