So I think it turned out OK, but it was certainly an interesting experience.
Following all this excitement, I went back downtown and after finding suitable parking, met up with Joel and Jan for a night of crazy fun and wild times. We went to a bar with a $25 cover (!!) but we managed to cozy our way in without paying. The interior was an exciting jumble of circus entertainers and alcohol. All of it was fun.

inally, a busy, productive Saturday in Vancouver. The sun was back out again today, and even though the air was cool, the closeness to to the sea caused it to feel quite warm. I decided to give the city's interesting public transportation train thing a try.
For my test run I went downtown and checked out the new Apple Store in the downtown mall. It was packed -- packed to the brim with people. Annoying.
Back near home I felt the desire to get my haircut and so went into the closest shop I could find that had a pair of scissors on its sign.
I walked in and politely asked if I could bother them to get my haircut for just a few minutes. The smaller gentleman, who I would later assume was from Malaysia, responded, "Haircut?"
