Job training
Powerlines above the snowy fields.
F
or the first time since late May, I woke up this morning for work.

Class this morning and I was the only male in the group. It was a typical orientation class, going over benefits and this and that. Then we began getting into the specifics of the job. And the company. And we're going to be doing this for exactly two weeks. It will be comprehensive.

Lunch involved a stop to see Scott and Marci at their place, since it's only about 5 minutes away.

I've enjoyed overhearing the conversations from people in the classroom who are already forming little alliances. One group includes several wives of men who are serving in the military -- most of them in Iraq. One was shot twice while on duty and his wife is going to have to use the health insurance from this job in order to help pay for it. I was astounded.

I was certainly ready for sleep when night rolled around.

Hi Chris! I'm sure you're well into your adventure--take lots of deep breaths! How's Barnacles adjusting? Keep us posted. I must say I miss your presence. Be Well, Andee
I think all the army wives are gone by now. I don't even know if they made it through training.
