t was a bit cloudy but the cool temperatures were welcome as Ryan and I got out of Nelson and went down the windy road to the Kootenay Lake Ferry. The ride across the lake is always fun and, more importantly, free. We looked up the lake at the giant mountains in the distance, then began the slow drive south.
This time we had plans: we would stop in the Kokanee Brewery to catch a tour and sample free beers.
Well, we found the brewery but unfotunately we were a bit late in getting there for the tour. Luckily all we had to do was watch a video and we were still given free beer. I enjoyed a Kokanee Gold, which is probably the beer God would have made if he could do such a thing.
Then we headed back to Washington, and luckily, Barnacle survived the entire trip while we were away. It was a nice vacation in the north.
